The bed certainly requires 2 people to assemble with quite a bit of time on their hands. The directions leave a bit to the imagination as there were only vague pictures, and some parts in the picture were mislabeled. Also, had a wood support piece on the futon frame that was not as long as it needed to be, very disappointing quality. It looks nice in the child’s bedroom, just hope it lasts a few years. After having to order separate twin mattress and futon mattress, I would not say this item is worth the money for the frame alone.I don’t usually write bad reviews but this one is a must! Me and my son love putting things together like tables, chairs and beds. We just moved to our new home and purchased a big king size bed that took us a hour to put together! This bunk bed on the other hand was a headache!!! First of all the assembly was horrible some of the holes did not fit where it was supposed to. Sometimes holes were on different sides and not aligning no matter what we tried. We followed the instructions and the parts with the right numbers and triple checked everything but some just didn’t fit and align correctly. Mind you, we love challenges and usually put things together all the time and consider ourselves pretty good at it. We had to put new holes in some areas because the holes were missing completely!!. We followed the instructions and took us 3 days and 3 people to put it together.. instructions was not that helpful since holes were misaligned and missing! Once put together the whole thing is flimsy, not sturdy at all, wood is bad quality and easy to split or break. After 2 weeks of lightly use by my 11 year son was sitting with my husband on the bottom bunk playing video games and they heard a crack and the bottom bunk broke. Pieces came off and got loose. My husband is about 210 lbs. we originally got this bunk bed so that my son can use the bottom part as a couch for when he plays games and also a place for his friends to sleep during sleep overs. That’s not happening now! Now I will have to remove the bed and buy another one and wasted money and time. Save yourselves the headache and money buy somewhere else this one is not worth it!!Very nice furniture for the price, looks very nice. Delivery was much sooner than expected. It wasn’t hard to put together, but there were 2 of us doing it, which helped! It’s a perfect guest bed, our daughter & granddaughters love it!
